Stay and play sessions are on Tuesday 1:05 pm to 2:35 pm
Fees are £10.00 per session. Parents/carers in receipt of benefits may qualify for subsidised fees at £5.00 per session. Please see Helen for details.
Parents/carers are expected to stay for these sessions with their child. These are small intimate groups where staff aims are to provide support for families through what can be a difficult time, working alongside parents/carers ensuring that you feel relaxed and secure in a safe and stimulating environment.
Once all the children have settled we incorporate a simple structure for the afternoon.
- Group activity.
- Messy play with a variety of textures and smells.
- ‘Goodbye’ song.
Our playrooms are spacious; we have a messy play area and outside we have safety flooring throughout with specialist swings.
We work within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), focussing on the prime areas of personal, social and emotional, communication and language and physical development. We plan our activities weekly and take into consideration each child’s interests; planning for what they like to play, explore and investigate with. We also have some activities that will extend the child’s skills.
Our multi-sensory rooms are also available during these sessions for babies and children that would benefit from its specialist environment.
If your child has physiotherapy or an occupational or speech and language therapist, we will endeavour to incorporate their individual care plan through play; making it fun, during the session. Please be aware that we can only use equipment that has been given to you or fitted by a physiotherapist or occupational therapist.
We have a wide variety of tactile activities that include food play; these will help children develop a positive relationship with food. We are VERY aware that some children do have allergies, so please make us aware if your child does have an allergy and we will ensure no foods containing their specific allergy are used during the session.
We value and respect the fundamental role of parents/carers and welcome working in partnership with you. If you wish to have a more private conversation regarding your child, please speak to a member of staff.
We hope that you find TOG a very rewarding experience.
